I've made noises about this before, but now it's official: I'm
now in the custom picture framing and art-dealing business. I'm
doing this part-time while I balance building the business against
my day-job, but I plan to make the gradual transition to fulltime
within a year.

My website (currently a single static page but I'll make it real
soon) is here

I am, of course, offering my best discounts to friends, family,
and early supporters :)

As a "grand opening" special, and partly to shake down my
procedures, I'm making the following hideously generous offer:
for the first ten artists who reply, I'll frame one piece
for FREE. That's right... the first one's free :) We can
also discuss selling your work on consignment.

Yay Jim!! Once I get back out of school and into a routine, we'll need to talk. I'll want an occasional bead tapestry framed and I'd rather give you the business than anyone else. I'll have a look around at some point here and see if I can find and info on framing beadwork...thick matting and lots of pins, I'd guess :-) Talk to you soon!

Hmmm... I can think of a couple of possibilities (the major thing I don't know about framing needlework is handling and securing it... I can imagine the rest of the process :) )

Thick matting might be one approach. Another would be a shadowbox, of which several designs are possible. I'll have to look at it and see...
