Nashoba Valley Chorale and Braintree Choral Society
are proud to announce a special collaborative concert!

Two Boston-area choruses come together as one to perform the Brahms Requiem. By turns stunningly beautiful, dramatic and radiant, the Brahms stands at the pinnacle of choral music. In its eschewing of the formal Latin Requiem text for the vernacular, and its prayer for the souls of those who mourn the dead, it is truly music with the power to heal.

Also on the program is the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece, a setting of three Walt Whitman poems called Three Songs for the Soul from Colorado composer Cherise Leiter. The Whitman poems are very carefully chosen to resonate with the themes of the Brahms Requiem and are wonderfully set to music for chorus, piano and solo oboe.

Beethoven's magnificent, rousing Choral Fantasy closes the program.

With 90 voices rasied as one and a 40 piece orchestra, it promises to be a wonderful concert!
We hope you can join us.

Oooh, the Brahms Requiem. One of my favorites. I *might* come to the Sunday performance.
