A smorgasboard of English and English-inspired music, featuring Leonard Bernstein's jazzy, raucous Chichester Psalms, written for the English cathedral of Chichester and accompanied by percussion, harp and organ. The concert also includes a semi-staged performance of Henry Purcell's masterful, emotional one-act opera Dido and Aeneas, accompanied by strings, plus music from Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols. The concert will also feature Haydn's sparkling Te Deum Laudamus
