I was in the store yesterday looking for a tube of lip balm to alleviate my cold sore. Although I have a long-favorite brand, I scanned the whole display to see what else might have become available in the 25 years since I discovered Blistex. My eyes settled with curiosity on one particular package: it said in one place "Maximum strength" and in another place, "Homeopathic". Does that mean that it has ten times less active ingredient than "Regular Strength"?

Carmex for cold sores. Great stuff. Also, hit your favorite vitamin store (GNC, or Stop and Shop supermarket) and grab some L-Lysine tablets. Take one a day starting when you feel the tingle, until the sore is gone. Sores go away quicker (or don't even erupt if you catch it early enough) if you take the lysine.
