Feeling better

I wish now to inform all and sundry that I'm feeling much better, being up and about and able to perform both concerts this weekend.

What prompted this was that once I returned from today's concert, Tam was finally home from Arisia and her first words were "You scared shit out of me!". You see I perhaps failed to mention that I didn't inform Tam of my illness, mainly because I was able to take care of myself and didn't want to put a damper on her weekend. So she found out by way of bikergeek, whose retelling of the tale inadvertently amplified the seriousness of my condition. Fortunately, Tam heard this on Sunday so when she "hurried home" she missed very little of the con. She called home the first time after I had left for my concert, getting only the answering machine. When she finally got home and found me away she called my cellphone, which I had turned off for the concert. Unknown status of spouse + two thwarted communications = a bit of anxiety, to say the least.

About half an hour after the cellphone call I finally got home, much to her combined relief and consternation... we then proceeded to decompress and debrief about each others' weekends...

I'm sorry... you didn't specifically say *not* to tell Tam, and I assumed she knew anyway. I was surprised to find out she didn't know you were sick. And your journal entries made you sound pretty damned sick. Too weak to get out of bed to get to the phone, according to one of them.

I'm sorry about that, and please apologize to her for me.

No prob. I got sick after she left for the con, and since I had the situation under control and could take care of myself, I decided she didn't need a damper on her weekend. I didn't realize that this year Arisia would have a working internet room and that word might get around anyway...

What's next, a satellite net feed for Baitcon? 8-)
