"No,", Dad said, "Study something practical, think about your future"

Even when I was studying computer science I secretly wanted to be a lumberja... I mean, symphony conductor.

Yeah, the arts are tough, but you don't see half of the Boston Symphony being outsourced to India, do you? At the rate things are going it'll be a wash after a while...

an-a one, an-a two...

Your Dominant Intelligence is Musical Intelligence

Every part of your life has a beat, and you're often tapping your fingers or toes.
You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time.
You are probably a gifted musician of some sort - even if you haven't realized it.
Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds.

You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer.

This was almost as big of a surprise as [livejournal.com profile] bronxelf_ag001's intelligence being spatial. Almost.

;-)

hmm, seems roughly on-target

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence

You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.
An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.
You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view.
A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.

You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

I'm in the process of getting the college degree I never got when I college-aged. (Now that I'm 30, and spent most of my adult life in the computer industry.)

My plan: a double major in computer science and film studies

computer science: practical, money-making
film studies: a love, a passion, something which won't actually seem like work when I do the coursework

btw, I saw a response you made on aspergers and added you as a friend, so as I could read another intelligent blog on a regular basis. I live in San Francisco and am returning to school after many years off; my life is pleasantly boring with a few mishaps here and there.
