...or at least highlights thereof.
Monday: Had to schedule a last-minute appointment with the oral surgeon. Seems the temporary packing over the surgical site was too temporary - it came out over the weekend (of course!). Thanks to Boston traffic eitage I left plenty of time but got there just in time. A total of four hours of driving for a five-minute procedure... I've got to find a dentist closer to where I live!
Tuesday: I was supposed to have a followup appointment with my gastroenterologist. It was early in the morning and I was running late, and I ended up rear-ending someone. This stupid highway in Leominster has stop signs at the bottom of some of the on-ramps! He'd stopped, he started to go, I looked left, found my chance, gunned it... and found out that he'd hesitated. There was just enough damage (cracked bumper) for him that we had to call the police and do the paperwork. There went my time to get to the doctor. Called them and re-scheduled while the cop was doing the paperwork. Trying to convince myself that I'm still a worthwhile person even though the words AT FAULT are now on my Permanent Record.
Wednesday: Another medical appointment first thing in the morning - to the urologist to get a vasectomy (I never wanted kids, and I want to make sure no mistakes will ever happen). The procedure went surprisingly well, and I'm suffering none of the pain or aftereffects that others said I'd go through (anybody got a recipe to use up frozen peas?). If any guy out there wants to get snipped, I'll give you the number of the best urologist in the state :)
Thursday: Thankfully, no medical stuff. I could actually get a full days' work done! Still waiting for the promised throbbing aching in my nether regions... nothing. Just a little itch at the stitches. Ordered another piece of equipment for the frame shop. Had to order over the phone rather than online because the item was "oversized" and would have to be sent motor freight. Well it turns out that the manufacturer is right in Worcester! Instead of arranging expensive shipping and waiting around for the delivery, I can just scoot down there and take delivery in person (yay for having a truck of my own!). The shop itself is gradually coming together... slower than I'd like, but I'm keeping at it.
Tomorrow: The scheduled followup appointment with the oral surgeon.
Weekend: I'd like to do more work on the frame shop... I don't know if it's too soon after my operation (they say no heavy lifting for at least a week). Maybe I can find some "lightweight" tasks to do...
