Quest for Fire, Part I
Dec. 4th, 2003 05:25 pmDoing a job that requires climbing up and down a tall ladder outdoors takes a lot longer when you're being extra-careful because you're working alone. Falling off said ladder would probably slow the job down even further.
What was I doing at the top of the ladder? Starting the install of the chimney for the woodstove we're putting in. We're running the pipe out the side of the house fairly high up and then up as far as we need to meet code. Between working slowly and early darkness, I only managed to get as far as installing the outside tee and support, but the work up until that point was by far the peskiest.
