Open Studios Day 1

jim_pFirst day of Open Studios was pretty good. We had a nice steady stream of people. Tam sold one painting and the buyer was seriously interested in another[*].
We also had a steady flow of picture framing customers, which was nice. Some of them were Groupon customers, but all of them had brought one Groupon and more than one item to frame.
Hoping to see what tomorrow brings!
[*] The work in question is actually owned by the shop; I bought it from Tamara. It's a painting entitled "Money Luck". You can see it on this page. It's the picture of the fish in the center of the bottom row. The reason I bought it is that it brings me business. When I was in my previous location, I happened to hang it in the "wealth corner" of my shop, and business picked up. When I rearranged the art and took it down, business dried up. This picture has been hanging in my wealth corner ever since. I also have a print of it in the shop, but I don't know if it'll have the same effect. When the buyer inquired about it, I quoted a very high price, but I'm not sure I want to sell it for any price. Later, Tamara suggested that we contact the buyer and arrange for him to commission another original from her. We'll do that after Open Studios is over...
