I've refrained from posting these until we actually owned the house. Here it is:

The bushes that completely obscure the front have got to go!

Ooh, very nice!

I do so miss things that are the proper shade of green. We have lemon trees and guava trees and stuff but it's still just not right.

Nice. good luck with it. That house probably has a rather nice front elevation behind all that landscaping.

Those bushes are indeed awfully bushy.

Nice house. Good tea.

You'll get more sun in the front when the bushes get trimmed back. And it will make the house more approachable for both your businesses. Oh, that's wonderful! I like the chimney. Does it work?

The details inside are just wonderful! And, not too much to do to make it workable for you both. Hurray!

Congratulations! What town is it in?

wow, lovely... and does it have Craftsman-y details? (If I'd had a choice where to live, I would have gone for a Craftsman-style house...)

I am assuming, also, that the tress are not so green right now, since you said it's in Natick.

(and I agree; those bushes have to be seriously whacked... and a home inspector would probably tell you to chop down the big tree that is *right* next to the house...)

What a lovely house! But yeah, the shrubs need to go, and probably that tree right next to the house too.

Looks great. I agree re the bushes. Lose them and you'll get a heck of a lot more natural light.

The tree is awfully close to the house. Too bad, because otherwise it looks like a nice tree. (Although if it is a Norway maple you'll want to get rid of it anyway.)

Congratulations.

I agree that the tree looks a little close. I love the stone foundation and fireplace!

Wow, nice house! And, it's NOT a construction site! Looks comfy! Are you using this as a place to run a business and do art also, or will those be separate venues?

Chimney sweep was in today and certified it as ready to go :)

It's in Natick, just a short walk (couple blocks) from the train stop. That was one of several selling points for us :)

Yes, it's got Craftsman-y details on the inside too. That's one of the things that sold us. We're complementing it with Asian decor in the front hall and dining room. It should look really nice when it's done :)

We've been looking at several trees on the property that either need to be removed or seriously pruned back.

Since the ground is so soggy, I'm thinking of planting a bunch of willows to replace them...

We'll be doing business out of the house (discreetly, mind you), but I may eventually look for a storefront one of these years. I'm keeping the Leominster shop in the meantime as a commercial-ish space (long commute, I know, but my Yellow Book ad for the Leominster shop goes to press this month; oughta keep the shop for a while to serve customers in that area)
