A co worker was working from home on Monday. His comment: "My digestive tract was only stuck in reverse all day Sunday, I'm better today and should actually be in tomorrow".
Thanks a lot guy. I seem to have picked up your stomach bug today. Wake up at 6AM with intestinal cramping and seriously paint-peeling flatulence. Try taking a drink of water to settle things down and maybe move them along, big mistake. I couldn't even keep water down. Oh, and now I'm feeling chills. Dress up in sweats and go back under the blanket. Wake up every 2-3 hours, feeling like I'd just slept 20. Later in the morning it took all my strength to drag the laptop into bed with me and toss off an "out sick" email to my cow-orkers. Pass out again. Wake up a few hours later, figure I oughta call someone in the chorale and tell them I won't be at dress rehearsal tonight. Good thing the cellphone is on the nightstand, I don't think I have the strength to get up and get to the phone. Finally around 5pm or so I find I can take small sips of water and my stomach will at least consider keeping them down. By 8 or so I'm okay enough to begin rehydrating and eating a little bit (a little fruit, a small bowl of rice, nothing complicated).
Oh, and the most annoying part is that my wife and a couple of friends are in Boston having a grand old time at Arisia; I have to miss the con this year due to the concerts. *whine* but damn it would have been nice to have someone around to fetch me tea once I could hold it down and tuck in my blankie once in a while */whine*.
I hope I'm okay for the concert tomorrow...
