Makin' music...
May. 7th, 2006 01:16 amThe concert was a blast, but it was tiring at the end of a long day.
Woke up in Natick, drove to Leominster to deal with apt stuff and feed the rabbit, then out to Phillipston to tend the feral cat (Anybody need a good mouser?!), then drove the truck out to Groton to pick up some risers, then out to Littleton to help with setup.
After setup, I decided that I had just enough time to scoot back home for a shower and be back in time for 6PM call. Ended up being a bit late, but nobody gave me a hard time. Memories of my high-school band director die hard, though.
Concert itself was a blast, the orchestra rocked, the Requiem left tears in our director's eyes. There was a bit of a trainwreck in the Beethoven, alas... the director was playing with tempos a lot more in performance than he did in rehearsals, so sometimes folks were a bit off.
Off to do this again... if you want to catch us in Weymouth on Sunday you can still buy tickets here. Although the listings are for tickets for May 6, they'll be accepted at the May 7 concert in Weymouth as well.
Now to fall over...
