Moving along....

Yesterday I took delivery of a 1997 Dodge Ram Van. I bought it primarily for hauling building materials and tractor parts, but it's also useful for other bulky things.
Last fall I posted to a local free-for-the-taking mailing list that we had a sectional sofa available to give away, but no way to deliver it. We went around and around with several possible claimants and several possible friends-with-trucks and friends-of-friends-with-trucks, but things kept falling through. Last night, I re-posted the sofa to the same list, this time with a promise of delivery. Then I got on IRC. I was instantly jumped on by![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
koshmom; I thought she was glad to see me, but it turned out she only wanted me for my sofa. Total time from posting to claim could not have been more than ten minutes.
(A buddy of mine recently suggested that some folks must have this giveaway list auto-forwarded to their cranial implants... within an hour I had two more claimants for the sofa, plus two claimants for another article I'd posted... and I hadn't even received the digest of the list yet!)
Not more than five minutes after that,bikergeek comes on and asks if I can help him move a washer/dryer from pookfreak's place to his.
And no, I don't know if I'm good enough friends with anyone here to move any bodies. Yet. Though my truck could hold quite a few :)
